Skiltons' Bespoke Shoot Cards & Stationery

The Finishing Touch to Your Day

Our Story
Skiltons Bespoke Shoot Stationery began with a simple idea — to create something better.
In 2007, my father, Dick Skilton, a retired head teacher with a lifelong love of art, designed his first shoot card for my sister Helen & brother-in-law Dave who run David Morris Sporting in Hopton. At the time, the shoot cards being used were little more than basic printed sheets, and he felt they could be improved — something more thoughtful, more considered, and more in keeping with the occasion.
He created a design that reflected the character and tradition of a shoot day, and it quickly made an impression. Guests began to comment on the cards, and before long, other shoots were asking if he could create designs for them too. What started as a one-off soon grew, quite naturally, into a small business which he ran for many years with the help of my mother, Barbara.
I became involved some years later while on maternity leave with my two young children, helping where I could. In 2016, when my youngest started school, I took over the day-to-day running of the business, allowing my father to focus on what he enjoys most — creating artwork and developing his range of greeting cards, which are now sold wholesale to shops across the country.
Since then, we have gradually expanded our collection to include peg signs, peg draws, and a wider range of shoot card designs, while staying true to the original idea: producing well-designed, high-quality stationery for shoot days and country events.
Today, the business remains very much a family affair. My father, now 78, continues to create all of the original artwork, my mother will answer the phone if you decide to call us (and helps to work out tricky peg wheel numbering) while I manage the day-to-day running of the business and work closely with our customers to bring their ideas to life.
